Halal procedure
A Halal certificate is an increasingly sought-after quality requirement in the food world and it is important to meet the requirements of the Muslim consumer. Below, we explain how the Halal certification procedure takes place.
1. Request
It all starts with a request, you can make it on our website or by contacting us directly by phone. One of our colleagues will discuss with you the possibilities of Halal certification for your company. We would like to know in advance what products you manufacture and what the production process is. For example, pork cannot be used in products or on the same production line. We think it is important to indicate in advance what is possible or not so that your company can take it into account. In addition, you should know that some raw materials do not meet Halal requirements, so you have to look for alternatives.
2. Preparatory meeting.
During the preparatory meeting, we would like to meet you in person and see the place of production. We can thus correctly estimate the feasibility of the certification and advise you if necessary. A preparatory meeting is completely without obligation and will be completely free.
3. Evaluation and documentation
After our preparatory meeting, we prepare an estimate and send all the documentation such as contracts, confidentiality, etc. We are happy to present things clearly to you, our client, so that you cannot encounter any surprises afterwards.
4. Audit
We inspect the product(s) and its/their process. Before the audit is done, one of our auditors will first present you with an audit plan and tell you what documentation must be sent beforehand or must be ready during the audit. In general, an audit lasts one day, it can last longer or be shorter from one company to another.
5. Certificate
Once the auditors have completed the audit, they make a report. Based on the said report, you prepare or implement improvement measures. After sending the proposed improvement measures, the auditor evaluates them and advises the decision-making committee. In the decision-making process, our experts check if everything has been done well in accordance with the procedure. If an agreement is given, the certificate is then issued.
6. Follow-up
The real work begins only when the certificate is issued. We believe it is important that our customers are well assisted before and after the inspection. Our team is at your disposal to help you if needed.
